There are many uses of CBD for both mind and body. Here are 7 tips to help if you are considering taking it for the first time.*
- DOSAGE – start low with about 5-10mg of CBD and wait 1-2 hours, and increase as necessary to achieve desired effects. There are a variety of factors for individual dosage so you will have to find what works best for you.
- LENGTH OF TRIAL – you will want to use CBD for at least 2 weeks to see how it works for you. Some people report effects immediately while others it may take a few weeks.
- EXPECTATIONS – not everyone’s experience is the same with CBD. You should NOT expect it to perform miracles or get you “high” and you should spend the time to find the right dosage and give it a few weeks before making your final decision.
- TRY IT BEFORE BEDTIME – the first time you try CBD it would be best to do so before bedtime. Drowsiness is one of the most common side effects so it is a good idea to try it before bedtime, at least until you know how your body responds to it.
- FULL SPECTRUM vs. BROAD SPECTRUM – full spectrum contains all phytochemicals including CBD, trace cannabinoids, terpenes, and essential oils. Because full spectrum contains trace amounts of THC(<.3%) it can cause false positives in a drug test. If you think you will need to take a drug test, you should use broad spectrum because the trace amounts of THC have been removed.
- QUALITY – make sure your CBD products are made in the USA in a FDA registered facility, USDA organic, and 3rd party tested for quality and to ensure they contain no harsh chemicals. The manufacturer should also abide by Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) to ensure the quality and amount of CBD in each product.
- ASK A PROFESSIONAL – A qualified medical doctor or physician who knows your medical history is the best person to go to for advice about how much CBD you should take. As knowledgeable as sales staff may be when it comes to CBD products, they aren’t healthcare providers. Your best bet is to consult both.
